The Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce leads and supports business education seminars that promote workforce development and enhance the quality of life in the Ludington Area. The Chamber provides programs for adults that strengthen their professional, personal, and academic development. For an example of some of the programs offered, please see the list below.

 

The Chamber will often partner with the Ludington Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Manistee Area Chamber of Commerce, West Shore Community College, SCORE, MI-SBTDC, Scottville Main Street, Manistee Main Street, and the Downtown Ludington Board to provide business education opportunities.

 

Business Education committee members hope to continue to provide relevant educational opportunities for our local businesses. Business Education in 2010

May and June- Customer Service and Hospitality Training

            The Ludington & Scottville Chamber of Commerce and the Ludington Area Convention and Visitors Bureau offered a new and enhanced customer service and hospitality training seminar free to member businesses, employees, and interested citizens. The program included the popular “Ask Me, I Live Here” orientation plus a new customer service component. The seminar also addressed frequently asked questions for the Ludington Area and presented a virtual tour of the Ludington Area.

 

March and April- Find More Businesses on Facebook

Over 50 businesses in Manistee, Scottville, and Ludington Area participated in one of the two seminars at West Shore Community College. The seminars were sponsored by the Ludington and Scottville Chamber of Commerce and the Manistee Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with West Shore Community College, SCORE, MI-SBTDC, Scottville Main Street, Manistee Main Street, and the Downtown Ludington Board.

A panel discussion offered a multitude of ideas for businesses from several industry segments. Panelists demonstrated how social media can be used as a complement to traditional media marketing to reach and interact with customers.
