The Buy Local First phenomenon is gaining momentum in Mason County!  In an effort to gain market share for Mason County Businesses andservice providers, the Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Scottville Main Street Program, and the Ludington DDA have together created Make It Mason County – Buy Close By discount campaign!

What Business Can Participate?
ANY business in Mason County may participate in this program regardless of membership in the Ludington DDA, Scottville Main Street, or the Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce (although those who aren’t should consider joining!).  

How Much Does it Cost?
We do not require you to pay anything to join the campaign; however you must offer a discount to anyone with a Make It Mason County membership card.  

Membership Cards: What Are They?
The Make It Mason County membership card, upon purchase, offers card holder discounts at all participating businesses within Mason County. Card holders may be a resident or a visitor.
Membership Cards: How Much Are They?
Membership cards will be sold for $10.00 each. Any profits gained from this promotion will be used for continued marketing of the campaign.  

How Do Membership Card Holders Find Out What Businesses Are Participating and What Discounts Are Offered?
A list of those businesses participating in the program and offering a discount will be posted on the chamber website www.ludington.org/home.aspx  with links on www.downtownludington.org and www.scottvillemainstreet.org.  The chamber will also provide a brochure each month with the updated list of participating businesses and the discount they are offering for that month.

How Can My Business Participate?
To participate all you need to do is fill out the following form and return it to the Chamber.  Additionally, if a business updates their monthly discount it must be submitted not later than 4:00 pm each third Monday of the month.

We are very excited to bring this opportunity to the business community.  The initial marketing costs of this campaign will be covered by the Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce.
